Thank you very much for your support!

Here are some frequently asked questions:

Can I write to my child/student/worker?
Yes, we encourage you to write to the child/student/worker that you are sponsoring. Their mailing address is on their profile. Please do not put your own address on your correspondence, if the mail is intercepted you may get unwanted requests for money. If you wish to include a return address on the back of the envelope, please use the INNZ postal address as all responses to supporters in NZ from the IN ministries will come through the INNZ office.

Will you send my letters to my child for me?
We send a small envelope at the end of each month to many of the countries, so we can forward paper letters for you.

Will you send postcards, photos, gifts to my child for me?
No. We are sorry but we cannot send any of the above items on your behalf. These items must be sent directly to your child be you. If these items are sent to our office for forwarding on to your sponsored child, we will have to return them to you.

Can I send birthday and Christmas presents to my child/student?
Yes you can; however we strongly suggest that the gift should not exceed NZ$10 in value.

There are a number of reasons for this:

  1. It often causes problems for our staff in the receiving country, when large presents arrive for one child and not for another.
  2. Some children never receive a gift from their sponsor, so as you can imagine it is very difficult for them when large gifts arrive for other children in the programme.
  3. Postal systems in some countries are very corrupt. Sometimes the parcel is stolen, other times it is literally held hostage while postal staff extort high customs and taxes from our offices to have the gifts released, or sometimes they simply go missing.

There is an alternative: you can send a donation to our office which goes into a gift pool in your child's programme. This gift pool provides Christmas and birthday gifts of equal value for all the children in the programme. Just write your child's beneficiary code and "gift pool" with your donation.

Can you suggest what may be a good small gift that I can send to my child/student?
There are a number of small gifts that the children like to receive:
handkerchiefs
hair ties
calendars
stickers
small paperback book
notebooks
pencil cases
